Thanks Sadie, I'm really glad you're finding my books helpful.

All of the steps in the books can be followed using LW9. The only thing I can think of is that your video card isn't displaying the bones properly. You should be able to see the bones when you draw them, and before they're activated, with dotted outlines. Maybe contact Newtek with your hardware specs and problem to see how it can be resolved.

Hello Jonny, I'm currently teaching myself 3D animation, so far your books are the most comprehensive (so thank you!) I've been able to understand and follow along, though not do as neat a job as you. However, I've reached a point in volum 2: Rigging and Animation, that has me stumped (nothing from your end, something I must be doing wrong) When I go to place the first bone (or any bone for that matter) I click and drag, but the drag doesn't quite work... not in any way I can see. It is doing something, it seems when I turn the bone on, i can then see it's length (I first noticed under the item properties window, that depending on how far i tried to drag it would be differnt lengths, so dragging was doing something) however, when creating a bone, its not active (rightly so) I can't see how it is placed until i release the mouse button, activate it, then try to move it using the editing tools... while it's active... Is there some setting that I must have on (or off) that would have been a possible default. (I haven't changed anything expect what your tutorial said, and nothing obvious jumps out and says "Here!" )
Sorry for the long winded question, but I'm so anxious to get started! :) Thank you again for your wonderful books. (P.S. Skelegons work, and when I convert to bones, they also work... but I was hoping to follow your tutorial with bones, it seems a lot more powerful and easier to back up with bones- also I'm using Version 9, i figured it would be close enough to get a good basis to start with) Thanks, Sadie

Thanks very much Penny,

Please let me know if I can help out in any way. I hope to find time soon to post some video tutorials here, expanding on, continuing, and updating from where my books left off...

Your creations are incredible. I thank you for the inspiration. You are someone I would like to be like. I was searching for tutorials on feathers, and found your bird.... Oh, what an absolutely beautiful bird. Since visiting your website I will be looking for your books and anything else you put out. I am hoping to someday be able to start making money doing some of this kind of stuff.
Thanks Again! You are truly awesome!
